Out & About

"A mixture of activities and stunning scenery combine to leave a long pleasant after taste — just like a dram of local malt whisky." (Hugh Govan)

Whether you dabble in the gentle art of abseiling or prefer an easy afternoon stroll − visitors come to Skye to walk its open glens, forests and wild coral beach coastlines, to scramble the vast ridges and corries, and of course, to rope the saw-toothed climbing peaks of the Cuillin that rise from sea so magically to a height of over three thousand feet.

There’s no shortage of things to do and see around Dunvegan. So to help you  plan your stay, we’ve included a fairly comprehensive list of activities (with links).

Local historical and rural museums, art galleries, restaurants and of course the nature and scenery - walking, scrambling and climbing - never fail to take the breath away... in more ways than one!
